This workshop, which will be held in 4 sessions starting March 22, 2022, will present one idea of a complete workflow for applied Bayesian statistics. The goal will be to look at real-world models that are actually used by biodiversity scientists.

This Fall (November 22-26, 2021), BIOS² will host a Software Carpentry workshop to introduce new BIOS2 Fellows, Québec-Océan members and and everyone else interested to the basics of computer programming, working with data and the skills needed to be productive in collaborative research projects.

Facilitating Engaging and Inclusive Group Discussion – Training and coaching sessions
BIOS2 is committed to integrating the values of equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) into the program (management structure and program environment). In 2021, we decided to put more energy towards developing a more inclusive culture and environment, and promoting EDI in the program. As a result, we have begun a series of training and reflection activities on EDI issues. In particular, we had a focus group to develop an EDI action plan for the program that will soon be published.
As the first activity of our cohort, we decided to start with the basics: communication. Therefore, we will hold a workshop about Facilitating Engaging and Inclusive Group Discussion.
