Research interests

Professor Gravel’s research aims to develop a global model of ecosystem functioning. To do so, he proposes new conceptual tools and implements them using mathematical and computational models, as well as Big Data. He also conducts laboratory experiments using a microbial ecosystem (the food web inhabiting the leaves of carnivorous plants). His research will enable him to produce biodiversity scenarios for the future. The development of this knowledge is necessary to protect biodiversity in an environment that is constantly changing.
